Luíza Ribeiro is a flutist from the northeast coast of Brazil, who blends her knowledge of Classical and native styles to bring joy and passion to her audiences, young and old. Her belief in the power of music to heal has led her to participate in social projects in both Brazil and the US. Most notably, she has performed and taught in the El Sistema-inspired programs PRIMA Project and Cente Que Encanta, and more recently through Project: Music Heals Us for program participants in both the juvenile and adult justice systems in Brownsville, Brooklyn and Rikers Island.
